More birthday

We had planned to have a couple of Tessa's friends (the little sisters of two of Ella's friends) over for her birthday on Friday night, but they both got sick. It was okay with Tessa though. She had pizza, more cake and presents. Ella and Chase both helped with the unwrapping.

I can't believe she's a year old. We just had some cupcakes today and we'll have more cake and presents on Friday.

It's back

A few weeks before Christmas, Santa sent Ella a video message. In it, he said he knew she was going to try really hard to stop sucking her thumb. She was sucking her thumb as he said this and she immediately took it out of her mouth. After that, I didn't see her thumb in her mouth one time.

Then, last week, we were at work and her Uncle Matt walked by and saw her sucking her thumb. He told her he thought she wasn't supposed to be sucking her thumb anymore. She said, "well, Christmas is over." Ugh. Since then, she's back to sucking her thumb. I should have known it couldn't have been that easy.
